Frame types

Finding the right picture frame

In the Kuchlerhaus you get many different kinds of frames. These can differ depending on the application, whereby each type of frame has its own advantages and particularities.

To find the right picture frame, ask yourself the following questions:

  • What do I want to frame?
  • How do I want to present my picture?
  • Where should the picture frame hang?
  • How much money do I want to spend on the frame?
  • What are the dimensions of my framed object?

Different types of picture frames

Floristic frames

A floristry frame is the setting of a floral structure in a frame. The frame must have sufficient space (approx. 3 – 5 cm) between the glass and the rear wall to accommodate the floral design in a protected and safe manner.

The composition of the picture can also take the form of a collage. In the case of a collage, different elements are placed on top of each other so that the floral elements are built up out of the frame.

Double frame and box frame

The double frame uses several frames arranged in steps in matching colours to achieve a specific spatial effect.

The box frame has a gap of approx. 3-4 cm between the front of the frame and the picture inlay. By resetting the picture to a contrasting colour, a depth effect is achieved similar to the multiple passe-partout.

Designer frames

Designer frames are produced in the old craft tradition with reworked mitre corners. They are the top product of our company. This means that valuable pictures are framed in a particularly stylish manner. These frames can also have a particularly unusual shape. It normally depends on the content of the picture. In most cases the design is combined with a real leaf gilding.
